Alumni: The Men of Hope

Our mission is to support men seeking continued recovery and sobriety as a way of life. We strive to respond to the individual needs of our members and to support and encourage fellowship in faith, hope, and love. We provide leadership and support for causes that effect positive change in the lives of families and individuals whose lives have been impacted by drugs and alcohol.

In 1991, a group of men completed the residential drug treatment program at Covenant Community. Shortly after their graduation from the program, these men formed an informal support group for each other and for subsequent graduates of Covenant Community. Then, in 2000, this support group formalized itself as The Men of Hope. We now welcome graduates of any state approved drug or alcohol treatment program, or individuals with one continuous year of sobriety.  We host meetings twice a month and many social functions throughout the year.

If you would like to find out more about joining or supporting The Men of Hope, please contact us at menofhope@bellsouth.net or call (678) 463-4556.

The Men of Hope Feed the Homeless (November, 2009)

Once again this year The Men of Hope (alumni of Covenant Community) fed over 600 of the homeless and working poor of Atlanta this Thanksgiving.

The Men of Hope, along with help from the men of Covenant Community, raise money for the event, plan the menu, purchase the food, cook and serve over 600 hungry and thankful diners each year.  The mean is real "home cooking" and usually takes several days to prepare.

Several of the men were once on the other side of the line - receiving the very Thanksgiving meal they are now able to prepare and serve for their fellow man.  This is but one opportunity for the man to "Pay it Forward" -- giving back even a small part of the blessings and opportunities that have been given them.
