Just the Facts
What is Covenant Community?
Covenant Community is a residential life-stabilization program for homeless men recovering from substance abuse. Our mission is to provide the necessary tools and resources to help our clients
achieve personal life stabilization and full-time employment, ultimately enabling them to return to their families and the community as productive citizens.
Whom do we serve?
Covenant Community serves homeless, recovering, adult males who are referred by local detoxification programs with no viable means of support. The men must be medically stable and meet program
requirements to find employment. Our facilities are fully wheelchair equipped and every effort is made to provide assistance to those with physical disabilities. Covenant Community does not
discriminate with regards to race or religion.
How do you determine eligibility?
All applicants must meet certain criterion prior to acceptance. The program candidates must be homeless in Fulton County. They must undergo a formal detoxification process and test negative for both Tuberculosis and Syphilis.
What services do we offer?
Covenant Community provides intensive rehabilitation counseling in group and individual settings; job-readiness training and assistance in seeking employment; educational assistance; legal, medical
and dental referrals; transitional housing; relapse prevention; and after-care planning. Covenant Community offers a six-month to three-year program depending upon the needs of the
individual.
What is the cost of treatment?
The average cost per resident at Covenant Community is approximately $20,000 per year. In contrast, the average cost per resident in a traditional recovery setting is about $273,000 per year. Not
only does Covenant Community provide services at a much lower cost than traditional settings, Covenant Community also spares local governments the cost of emergency healthcare, crime, insurance, and
other societal costs by helping these men reclaim their lives as productive citizens.
Many men do not spend an entire year with us. It costs the following to support ONE man in our program:

What happens after clients complete Covenant Community’s program?
They are strongly encouraged to attend weekly alumni meetings. Covenant Community’s alumni, The Men of Hope, provide a vital support system for our graduates. The Men of Hope’s purpose is to keep
relationships intact, encourage each other in maintaining sobriety, and serve as mentors to new residents.
